André Wagner (born in Burgstädt in 1980) is working and living in Berlin / Potsdam. The photographer seizes real (light) situations andcreates painterly poetic images by means of long time exposure. His camera enables him to extend the visual perception by the image’s context. Wagner’s photographs reveal the process of artistic involvement with the contrariness of human existence: between deep connection with nature and the culture of industrial progress. This becomes appparent in his early fire drawings, written into nightscapes like self- portraits, as well as in his landscape portraits reflecting on human and nature as phenotypes.
